Colonel Oliver North Talks Heroism in Tennessee

Colonel Oliver North spent much of his Memorial Day holiday in Tennessee urging people to honor our military heroes. Colonel North addressed thousands during two Memorial Day services at Cornerstone Church in Madison.

Though a Fox News commentator, North says the media often ignores the true stories of heroism you’ll find every day among our soldiers serving overseas. He also says our soldiers don’t want to be treated the way soldiers returning from Vietnam were treated in the 60’s and 70’s.

Referencing the war in Iraq, North said, “They do not want it to end like Vietnam. They know they’re winning this war. They want to win this war and my hope and pray is the Commander and Chief we have coming January 2009 is a person committed to doing that.”

Colonel North is the former national security advisor to President Reagan, He was convicted of conspiracy and other charges related to the Iran-Contra scandal, but eventually the charges were overturned.
