Open thread for the weekend

  1. Okay, Game Over! FNC just needs to scrap Fox and Friends Weekend.
The week day show cannot be replicated.
These three people are trying very hard. Every person whom FNC puts on makes an effort to be gay, witty, charming, funny, etc. But it just comes out as a weak imitaton.
I watch the weekend morning shows in my city now and then, and they are better than weekend F&F. It is because the locals are not trying to recreate any other show.
There is no such thing as reflected glory for F&F Weekend.

  2. The problem with scrapping the weekend show is that these morons will wind up ruining other FNC shows. I mean, do you REALLY believe that they’re going to not put Courtney on the air as much as they can, despite her extremely limited abilities?

As others have said, it’s probably better to leave the dregs right there and keep them too occupied to infect shows we like.

  3. Am I out of line for wondering why Drudge hasn’t mentioned Ted Kennedy?

  4. I think he is pretty much awol on weekends.

  5. laural1,
I have been wondering the same thing!

  6. That weekend show would be better off with Uma Pemmaraju in the center chair.

  7. laural1, I also noticed Drudge was caught slipping! But, I do see a headline on there now.

  8. No offense to dear Mr. Kennedy, but is anyone else tiring of the coverage of his seizures/stroke? If nothing has changed no need to keep reporting on it constantly.

  9. Seems to me like Fox was all-out Kennedy during the afternoon yesterday.

  10. I am so sick of them pre-empting Fox News Watch. If it’s big, breaking news, that’s one thing…but come on. The Kennedy news was 7 hours old at that point. It’s bad enough they destroyed their best weekend show, after Fox News Sunday, but then you never know for sure if it will make air or not. Ridiculous.

  11. Well, at least Ted Kennedy is getting better medical care than Mary Jo Kopechne received.

  12. laural1, sophia, Cella & Terance: Ditto for me.

About the same time that Drudge gave up his Sunday night radio show, I noticed a much slower turnover on his website. I believe that Andrew Breitbart is now running most of Drudge Report and for whatever reason, they were all out to lunch yesterday with the Ted Kennedy story.

Bigred: Agree about Fox News Watch. Another episode that never saw the light of day.

  13. F&F Weekend has become totally unwatchable. It’s become some big goof-fest that showcases their lack of chemistry, talent and knowledge on news and political issues. None of these 3 can handle a host situation or even do a good interview.

  14. I forgot to mention that I agree with those who are tired of FOX News Watch being pushed to the side. It’s a real shame what FOX has done to that show.
