  1. Going up - Bill Hemmer, Major Garrett, Anderson Cooper, Shep Smith, Megan Kelly
Going down - Rick Sanchez, E.D. Hill
I don’t watch CNN during daytime viewing hours because they seem so inadequate. So I don’t have any of their names on the ready.

Going down (more) - Contessa Brewer

  4. I agree with both posters, Dee and Paul.
Sorry that John Gibson is losing ground, but glad that Heather is.
And I like Tamron Hall, too!! Quick, alert, pleasant!

  5. Yes, Cella and Paul you are correct. I got watch Tamron for years as my wakeup. Up is the only way to go for her.

Up: Tamron Hall, Megyn Kelly (even though I don’t like her), Bill Hemmer (well deserved), Campbell Brown

Down: John Gibson (how many people actually listen to his radio show?), Nauert, Friel, Trace Gallagher, E.D. Hill

Back to normal: Rick Sanchez (I actually semi-like him now that is back on Saturday/Sunday nights. It really shows you how bad Tony Harris is.)

  6. Cant stand Megyn Kelly or Kendell. She is always acting like a giggly cheerleader and teenager. Even though she probably is going up,I have no idea why.

  7. Up: Bill Hemmer…in your face CNN! Carl Cameron…great election coverage.

Down: Courtney Friel, Miles O’Brien, Soledad O’Brien

  8. Can’t stand Megyn Kelly but she seems to be the rising star at Fox. She is just so silly acting and I don’t know how Hemmer can stand her either. I am sorry about Gibson but not sorry about the decline of Heather Nauert. He must be having second thoughts about bringing her on. Up - Major Garrett finally. Down - E. D. Hill, and the not-too-bright Contessa Brewer.

  9. Whether you like Megan Kelly or not, she and Hemmer and pulling in the 25-54 demos. And I still think Trace Gallagher will go up. He works well with Shep Smith and when he covers for him, the numbers are still as strong. Poor John Gibson - I think everyone except Fox saw this coming from Day 1. Thanks a lot Heather!

  10. Dee, how is Trace Gallagher going up? Wouldn’t he be going down, since he did get yanked from weekend Fox Report.

    Comment by Aaron — March 15, 2008 @ 1:04 pm

  11. OK, I’ll be the contrarian and put this out there: Friel is going up or neutral. It’s apparent she has some higher-up totally enthralled and willing to give her a million and one breaks.

And I’ll put a new one up for consideration: Ainsley Earhardt is, unfortunately, on the upswing. This overly saccharine, self-righteous, hypocritical, Southern-belle caricature is being crammed into tight sweaters in order to appeal horny shut-ins, the kind who watch the news with the volume turned off and the hand lotion nearby.

  12. Aaron, Trace is going up because he was pulled from a SATURDAY & SUNDAY nobody watching Fox Report and put on their flagship program with Shep Smith. Check the Fox web page and you’ll see he is advertised there and has most of the videos they list. Also, he fills in for Shep for 8-9 days at a time and his demos are as good or even better. I thought it was a demotion at first also but going from hosting a non-entity to being chief correspondent on a show that draws more I’ve come to believe is going up.
    Hope I’m right.
